30 Reviews For This Extension
This is a very good extensions and really useful but Google say it may soon be unsupported as it doesn't follow best practice. I don't know what best practices it isn't following though. Hopefully it will be resolved as it is a great extension.
I have loved this extension and I am gutted that it is no longer supported by Google Chrome :( When is the migration to Chrome V3 API going to happen? Will you keep the same name? I just want to be sure that I will find the new version when it is released! Thank you
The best tab suspender in Chrome in my opinion. Been using this extension for years, I hope it won't get removed from Chrome.
well it WAS a great program , then Google Came along and said NOPE I can not use it anymore and blocked it , I have thousands of tabs that can not longer be resumed , not happy Google !!!
Seems to work exactly as advertised at date of this review. I've seen some low ratings that affect the overal score of the extension, but many or all of these issues appear to have been fixed.
When will you update it? : (
For someone like me who always have multi windows open with multiple tabs this has ended up doing the job that Chrome itself is supposed to be doing in so far as putting tabs into sleep. Which you never have any control over which tabs goes to sleep, when it does it or even doing it at all. I don't get why Chrome introduced the feature and didn't let you control it manually. Or automatically put all unused tabs into sleep mode after lets say 30 minutes. If I have one complaint though its that when you suspend the tab. No matter if it's a longer video I'm watching across a period of time. Or if its a video I want to get to later and so I open a tab and suspend it. You end up with the tab being turned into some form of &ab_channel=ChannelName&t=2s or however long I'm in a longer video. It's not a deal breaker, but having to go the extra step of removing that each time. Getting rid of that would be a nice improvement.
I really like it, but after Chrome changed how groups work, any tab that was suspended upon restoring a Chrome window is turned into a "new tab". So I have to choose between losing everything in my last session, or having an optimized browser. Unfortunately, saving my browser is far more important to me. Hopefully, this gets resovled eventually.
No longer working for me, but I liked it when it did
Why is chromewebstore showing "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions"?
Hit some keyboard shortcut while typing a letter with a diacritic, which suspended a bunch of tabs - didn't find any way to turn off that keyboard shortcut, so I switched off the extension - upon which it closed all the suspended tabs, and they did not go into closed tab history where they could have been reopened. Completely unacceptable.
Please, give us a quickly update. Tab Suspendere is not working on last Chrome Linux relaise!
great and fast
Pretty good extension! Unfortunately, it seems as if it can't suspend google search pages, like if you type "best extensions in 2024" on Google and don't click on any links, it wont suspend the google page. there might be a reason behind that though? but man this does help save a TON of memory ?
A lot of great options. Side Note: Chrome's built-in Memory Saver doesn't suspend youtube tabs, this will. I turned off Chrome's Memory Saver, now I use Tab Suspender instead.
I've been using it for few years and it's been very great; not denying it happened, but I never had any issue like extension crashing and loosing all my tabs. However I recently started using tab groups, and it seems that randomly some groupped tabs become "new tab". It still is the actual same tab since I can "rewind history"; once to get to the suspended tab, twice to get to the actual loaded webpage; it really looks like something asked those tabs to load "chrome://newtab"...
It does not start at all for me anymore. Used to be very useful but now it only crashes. Tried resetting the settings as suggested but it does not help. It's a pity, used to be very useful ext.
Everything works as advertised BUT it is NOT reliable at all. Suspended tabs gets corrupted randomly and there is no way to get them back, reload, restart, disable/enable nothing works. Tested on Chrome, Vivaldi, Edge, all the same.
Works until it doesn't. Please fix it so that it doesn't corrupt all your suspended tabs when the extension eventually and inevitably crashes. Surely there is a way.
make sure to unsuspend before you remove it if you plan to, broke 80% of my tabs and has caused all pages on chrome to go extremely slowly.
Great when all you care about is putting everything to sleep so you can play your game better. However, it doesnt seem to be able to keep settings the way you set them. I turned everything off and found it was still constantly resleeping half of my tabs. Kept having to click the unsleep all button which then eats all of my cpu to fix the problem. But then it just puts them back to sleep even though ive turned all sleep options/settings completely off. The only thing i can do now is completely disable the extension from within chrome to stop it all. I may try enabling it when i want it however its all so broken that ive lost all my trust in this extension and will most likely be looking for an alternative. Alternatively alternatively (lol) i do have many reasons irking me to just make the switch to opera gx as chrome seemingly wants to change everything about itself with all these updates its pushing out to the point i cant get a consistent user experience anymore.
Looks good, but settings reverts to default after closing Chrome. I hope it gets fixed.
extension doesn't suspend some youtube pages and how can we save all tabs for prevent errors?
Doesn't seem to work on ignoring tabs playing music. Not even after whitelisting youtube.com in addition to checking the 'ignore audible tabs' option. Using Brave browser here.
Amazing plugin, but there is a significant bug when you try accessing any location from the history, you cannot do it. You must disable it before accessing any address.
Not working with PWA Tabs (Chrome) , this has to be fixed urgently as most websites now have their installable websites as application for many benefits which is the PWA technology.
wonderful extension except that in the latest chrome update the extension causes chrome to crash repeatedly until i turned off auto suspend from the pop out of the extension.Other than that a wonderful piece of extension indeed to keep cpu usage by chrome down
I thought that it wasn't going to work, because nothing was happening to my tabs even though I selected the "suspend automatically" option, but then I checked the "change hotkeys" tab, found the Alt + S command, and it works wonders! All tabs that I selected to suspend went from over 300mb to absolutely zero! This is even better than I had hoped for! The only problem of extension is the lack of clarity.
????? Thanks for awesome extension!
It would be nice if you could make lists of domains to suspend, and a time limit. So by default it can be 30 min, or no suspending at all, but for list1, all the domains in the list suspend after 5min, for example. That way the heavy pages can be targeted, like video/music pages, ie. youtube, etc...
